A Robber Who Doesn’t Want to Rob?!

Amusing and perfectly pitched for its target audience: the kind of topsy-turvy world that children love

New series by bestselling author Nina Weger: 175,000 books sold

A robber who doesn’t want to rob anyone. That’s Little Robber Rapido, Nina Weger’s lovable new hero. “But why do robbers have to rob people?” Little Robber Rapido wonders. The answer is quite obvious to his friend, Rapscallion the Raccoon. It’s because they’re called robbers! “But why are they called robbers?” Sigh. This is precisely the problem: Rapido asks too many questions. He thinks too much. In fact, he’s completely un-robber-like. His father, Robber-in-Chief Rigorous, thinks so too. But then Rapido proves them all wrong! | 5 +

A pinch of Vicky the Viking. A taste of Robin Hood. And a large helping of Robber-in-Chief’s son Rapido.

What’s worse than a whirlwind in Pickpocket Woods? Or a bath full of floral-scented bubbles? You’ve got it: a Robber-in-Chief with toothache!

This creates a new task for the young robbers: the first one to extract the offending tooth from Rigorous’s mouth will win the prize. This isn’t entirely straightforward for Rapido, as the other young robbers are also full of good ideas. Fortunately, though, Rapido and his friend Rapscallion the Raccoon know the mysterious Jawcracker. Will he be able to help them out?

A boarding school for power girls! The pupils of the Matilda Imperatrix boarding school are all very special: Flo rides like the devil and she’s a fantastic sword fighter, too. Pina, on the other hand, is more the quiet type, and she can read animal tracks and is good at archery. When the extremely well-behaved Blanca joins them at boarding school, the two friends are a bit sceptical to begin with. But then Blanca turns out to be a pirate, and with her help, they succeed in freeing Flo’s little sister from the grasp of unscrupulous kidnappers.

Is it possible for a totally crazy family to get any crazier? Well, yes it can actually – if the grandfather suddenly starts to believe he’s God! A turbulent family story with a totally lovable hero!

Nick is nine years old and there’s one thing in the world he really wants – he would love to have a dog; a real, live dog. Unfortunately, everyone in Nick’s family is so crazy that he can’t talk to them about anything as ordinary as a dog – everyone, that is, but his grandad, John Lasar. Apart from Nick, he is the only sensible person in the family. And he is going to persuade Nick’s mother to let Nick have a dog at last. That’s what Nick hopes, at least and so he plans to talk to his grandad about it at the grand anniversary party to be held for his grandad’s chocolate factory.
But then things don’t turn out anything like Nick had imagined because Grandad John, Nick’s only ally of all people, turns crazy from one day to the next, and starts believing he is God.
This causes great excitement, of course, and for once in their lives, all the other members of the family agree that Grandad John absolutely must be brought to his senses. The only trouble is that no amount of yoga, music, argument, pleading or name calling has the slightest effect. Grandad John continues to declare that he is God. Then Nick remembers what his sister’s teacher once said about his sister’s India mania: namely that everyone should accept it and, even better, play along with it. So all the members of his family build a throne and set Grandad John upon it and one by one they come before him to ask him to grant their wishes.
Not even Nick would ever have guessed just how crazy his family’s wishes could be and above all what peculiar consequences the whole thing would have …
