It all started when Claudia found an egg in the garden. It was sky-blue and about as big as a car tyre. She obviously couldn’t just leave it where it was. After all, there might be a dinosaur in it, or a crocodile. If Claudia had guessed that the egg contained a letter-eater, she would certainly have stayed well away from it.
