Alea doesn’t want to celebrate her first Christmas as a mermaid like an ordinary landlubber, so she sets out with Lennox to look for underwater Christmas traditions and calls on a Finder-Finya to help them. But the Finder-Finya doesn’t even know what Christmas is. And the Christmas tree and delicious cheese soup Tess had wished for don’t quite work out, either, because while the band plays, a storm rages across the square, and it’s all the Alpha Cru can do to catch the litter that’s flying around before it ends up in the sea! Is Christmas going to be a washout?

After her primary school teacher had told her parents it was unlikely that she would ever learn to read and write properly, the girl from the Bergisches Land did not develop her passion for writing until late, i.e. the age of ten. Simone Hennig

Simone Hennig was born in 1981, trained as a publisher and bookseller and studied English, Scandinavian languages and children’s and youth literature in Frankfurt am Main. After working for the publishing companies S. Fischer and Friedrich Oetinger, she works as a freelance editor, author and publisher of children’s and young adult books today and lives with her family in Hamburg.

Claudia Carls was born in 1978 and studied children’s and young adult book illustration in Hamburg. She works freelance, illustrating and designing picture books for her own manuscripts and those of other authors, books for children and young adult, reference works and posters.
